I am in the HVAC field and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on Swedish Pipe Wrenches and their usefulness on larger diameter gas pipe (1" - 1-1/2'). I typically use Knipex Cobras to tighten gas pipe most of the way and then switch to my Rigid pipe wrench to finish it off. I'd like to find one wrench for the job that is both fast and provides the necessary leverage. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What about one of those self adjusting pipe wrenches like crescent has. Irwin and Husky both sell a quick adjusting pipe wrench that work well also.. Not sure about the Swedish, since its still a traditional type adjustment screw.
