Took some shots of my Cobras and my grip lock GL10s. I didn't realize that the Cobras' teeth had done that already, I just got them a month ago. The Channellocks have gotten way more use and look like brand new and are only 10 bucks. The Cobras are still great though, use them in lieu of vice grips a lot now.

That's an awesome drawer of pliers!!$$$$
But is it really necessary to have each size going up every half inch to an inch bigger?

I would guess a lot of them were bought as a set. You usually get a better price that way instead of buying them individually.

For cobras and pliers wrench? Yes. For when you need to use two at a time. One as a backing wrench like in hydraulic fittings. It's nice.

As for the snap ring pliers set, it's just like any other set. Covers all of the sizes properly. I hate snap rings so having the proper sized pliers for the snap ring makes life much easier.

"necessary" is a very subjective word.

If it says Knipex it's a tool. If it says Irwin it's a joke. Your pole is like asking which do you prefer a Corvette or a Vega. Apologies to all of you youngsters out there. The Vega was the worst American car ever produced, hopefully, that will help you to understand the metaphor. Google it.

Do you know for sure that Knipex is making a version of the Cobra pliers with the "quick set" feature? Do they have a different part # or are all Cobra's getting updated with that feature?

If you are still looking for the Quick set Cobra pliers we do have them in stock.
http://www.kctoolco.com/knipex-10-cobra-quickset-water-pump-pliers-p/8721250.htm

It is a new part number. 8721250 or 8722250 with comfort grip.
The quick set feature is very cool and works great!
