I've considered getting that one, but after reconsideration I chose to let the urge go away. If you're in a working environment that requires the repetitive use of waterpump pliers on different sized bolts/nuts, I'd probably give it a try.
Anybody think otherwise?

I think he has hands like a grizzly bear or something, Like the kind of guy who sits home and cracks chest nuts for fun
Maybe Elroy ran over the pliers or hit them with a mower. Hard to believe taht that pliers would have broken there just cutting wire....
OK, It's time to come clean
Elroy was cutting a flat washer for a #10 machine screw that needed some additional side clearance. We learned our lesson, use bigger cutters.

I've got the 10" smooth jawed Knipex -- bought them from Amazon.com. Red and blue handles. Very nice stuff. I wish I'd bought them when they were first mentioned on here.
I'm looking for a very heavy-duty plier/cutter for 10/12/14 gauge steel wire -- cutting lots of it. And was thinking about the Knipex or the Klein -- or even some of the Bahco (Made in France) that's on Harry Epstein's site.

If you're doing a lot of cutting, the Bahco on Epstein's is not a ERGO, so I'd lean towards this model:

Thanks, I'm adding this to my shopping cart at Amazon. When I'll get it, I'm not sure. THey've got the plain red handle for $30. I've been putting up razor wire around a fence and I need to secure it with heavy gauge wire. I've got a tweaker recycling compound bordering the property....

Ya the self adjustables are awkward to use. I bought a pair, and they do have an amazing grip, but as i loosen the grip to advance the plier and get a new bite, they tend to select a different tooth, and the size of the grip changes. This has a tendency to throw off my rhythm. I have a set of smaller cobra's, and they work much better,
