My buddy has a few of these 10" cutters. Which are over 10 years old and still kick *** today. He even uses them to cut small bolts and screws.
I picked up a pair for myself and noticed a few differences. The head on new one is about an 1/8" fatter, the curve on the handle is less pronounced, and the "knipex" marking on the head is slightly different.
Not complaining just making some observation. Anyone else notice this?

I have the 10" and 8" versions of the newer set.. They are identical expect for the longer handles. I found the 10" set a little too heavy and cumbersome for what I normally do, and went the 8" set instead.. I have MANY different diagonal cutters, and the knipex are by far the best ones I have.

It looks like the older plier is also a Matco re-brand. Faint traces of the Matco logo caught my eye in the first picture. The logo for reference:

I did a double take because the same plier also has "KNIPEX" embossed on the opposite side. Going off a stock image on the Matco site it looks like the Knipex-sourced pliers have always been dual branded:

In comparison the Craftsman/Knipex pliers are embossed "CRAFTSMAN" in place of "KNIPEX". I haven't looked at the other tool companies with re-branded Knipex. Sorry, kind of went off on my own observation. Just thought the dual branding was neat.

I bought a pair of 74-250 pliers on sale at Sears a couple years ago and ended up using them on a specific landscaping job that involved repeatedly cutting heavy duty wire. I was impressed with their durability. It's a good pair of cutters.
