If you're cutting hardened wire/cable, the CoBolt is what you want. If you're cutting copper/aluminum only, the diagonal cutters are what you want.

The CoBolt will cut anything the diags can cut, but it won't make as clean a cut, and the head is bulkier and thus harder to get into restricted spaces.

General pretty mich nailed it. Steel or other hardened wire get cobolt. Soft copper like get diagonal cutters

How does the Knipex compare to the Klein D2000 8" diagonal cutters?

I'm not familiar with Knipex. The Kleins are fantastic but the price is extreme. The Kleins go for about $60 at HD in Canada.

My personal experience. Kleins are harder and dont dent as easy. Knipex are sharper but still take some force to dent. I prefer knipex
