Hi,
I'm looking for a ratcheting crimping tool and I read good recommendations on both models.
Knipex MultiCrimp or the Gedore / Pressmaster MCT

Both include the 3 dies I need, similar price - Knipex is cheaper in 10$
I believe both will be awesome but since it is not a cheap tool I wonder if one of them is just better or it is an individual preference .

Does anyone used them both and can share thoughts?

Thanks!

Not a direct comparison, nor the exact model you have mentioned, but I have the Pressmaster KAA0760 (long handle) and it is an excellent tool.
This was purchased after using one regularly in an industrial environment.

It just works effortlessly.

I would expect the MCT to be of a similar high quality level.

Never used either, though I have a different Pressmaster crimper and I’ve pretty much standardized on the Rennsteig 624/Knipex Crimp System.

The Pressmaster system has many more dies available. So if your needs change, chances are there will be an MCT die. That would be worth $10 to me. The Knipex quick change thing looks neat and makes it harder to lose things.

The Pressmaster is also a parallel crimper. The jaws move parallel from start to finish. Theoretically that’s better. That said, I don’t notice any practical differences in crimp quality between my Rennsteig (parallel) and Wezag or Pressmaster (angled movement). If Wezag or Pressmaster K dies were easier and cheaper to source I never would have bought the Rennsteig.

Neither one to my knowledge offers locators.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I found MultiCrimp +5 dies in similar price to MCT + 3 dies.

Wezag tools really looks awesome, the wire stripping looks more robust from the Pressmaster's and it has a patent on it.

I guess the MCT is the best option(quality, price of dies and availbilty).

Thanks again for your thoughts.
