That's interesting. They are still Knipex, not Craftsman branded??

When I was at a store about a week ago, they had a bunch of new knipex products in the cart that they use to stock the shelves. There was no indication of where the product was going to go but I guessed it is probably a replacement for the Craftsman Pro Pliers that are on clearance. I was going to ask one of the guys at the counter but they were busy with buying customers so I did not bug them.

cool. i like the idea of having another place i can actually go buy them in person. lowes is the only place i've found that sells em. do they have a decent selection? i had seen they've had knipex in their tool catalog but never saw it in stores.

Interesting... been meaning to try it out. Was able to add the 10" pliers wrench to my cart for $36 for in store pick up. ($50 on amazon) Might have to try it out!

This scares me.... But, I guess with lowes stock getting smaller, it makes sense.

Saw them too in store on Monday.
Hope another good brand doesn't get dragged through the mud.

Nothing new really. Knipex (and even Rothenberger) has awlays been available though Sears mail order or Sears catalog. I guess now they're just going to start carrying them in the store. Maybe it's their way of apologising to their loyal tool customers for dropping the ball on Craftsman quality over the years.

I doubt Knipex at Sears stores will sell any better than it does at Lowes. Mostly the proferssionals will be the ones willing to pay that kind of money for a tool like Knipex. Most modern DIYers and home tool users rarely spend that much on tools, that what the Evolve tool line is meant for.

Besides, just think of what would likely happen to Knipex if they didn't have an outlet to retail their tool line here in N. America. Good campanies have ceased to exist because they could no longer move their product or market them properly.

Yeah our store has been getting a lot of knipex and crescent brand pliers in.

Why the Crescent branded pliers? Sears should just stay with selling Channellock. Crescent was a good plier at one time, seem like the last few new pairs I've seen were pretty shoddy.

I'm really surpised after all these years that Wilde Tool Co has done little to market their own brand of pliers in stores like Ace and Sears. They make pliers for other brands, but it's been years since I last saw a new Wilde branded pliers in a hardware store. Even some of the other companies nd brands they make pliers for have recently dropped them in favor of off-shore products. Not sure how they are surviving these days.

I can't get that page to come up - may be a firewall issue at work. I'd go get these today if I could get the price that low. I'll see if I can do it on my iPhone.

I don't know, all the Crescent ones are made in Taiwan and China, maybe they're just bringing them in as a cheap line of pliers to even out the regular Crapsman and the Knipex.

I have no idea... I just added it to my cart. It must have been through some discount link i used prior.

Try this one, maybe? : http://slickdeals.net/?pno=49663&lno=1&afsrc=1

It used to be TLSTHANKS... but I just tried that and it didn't work. I guess it expired. :headscrat

I just went to Sears through the link provided by fr0mastaj and a 5% AAA discount showed up. I was also able to get the 10% off with tlsthanks, so I got them for $36.33. Thanks guys!

Still works, but it can't be used on certain items (the same way it has been). Doesn't like "online only" pricing. Add the pliers linked on page 1 and try the coupon again. it still works.

Thanks. Coupons worked for me, $36.33. Used up the last of my 50% Sears gift card from a few months ago.

I saw them today at the Sears that I stopped in, they were in a pile on the bottom shelf with no price sticker or pricing anywhere.

Great price on great pliers. I'm picking mine up this afternoon, $38.24 plus tax.

And my new Wera socket set is arriving today--It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

My Sears had several of them out, but no Cobras. They also did look like they had less Channellock and more Crescent and Irwin.

They also had the Schroder made Craftsman sawdriver on sale for $8.88 from $25 or so.

Gitty up:
