Knipex west germany tools

Whenever I happen upon a tool marked "germany" I usually go for it and ended up grabbing these 2 pairs of pliers at the fleamarket for 5 bucks today, look to be really well built
Anyone know how old they might be and what their intended function is?
I'm going to underwater welding school now and think I'll be able them when we get the hands on stuff

I think those are gas pliers. They're for gripping gas lines on burners and other appliances.
