Knurled extensions (black finish)

Does anyone know where I can buy these extensions (black oxide/industrial finish) or a comparable alternative from another brand?

I really want to buy knurled black oxide/industrial finish extensions with the friction ball (as opposed to hog ring).

I've been in contact with local Cornwell dealers, but so far they have no interest in my business or money.

Proto through some Zoro would probably be the easiest. The only possible downside is the 2-1/2" 1/2 extension and the 1-3/4" 3/8 extension lack knurling based on the chrome versions I have, but the rest should be knurled.

Honestly I'm not a fan of knurling on black oxide. Always seemed too easy to get sweat in but not out causing that area to rust (short of dumping the whole tool in oil).

Black oxide is for impact tools and knurling is for turning by hand. That’s prob why it’s hard to find. What’s your use case are you honestly just trying to consolidate down to one kind to use on hand ratchets and impacts?

That's an interesting extension set. I don't think anybody else has those in a set.

I'm just a fan of knurling, especially on extensions. I also prefer the color over chrome, although I own chrome as well.

The irony is Proto doesn't recommend using an impact. Mine is stamped "Hand Use Only". Kind of hard to remember when grabbing extensions in the dark out of a pile.

The knurling is awesome. Kind of reminds me of Koken and old school SK. I have had to put bright safety orange electric tape as dropping it in a dark engine bay has posed some issues previously.

Black oxide does not always mean for impacts. Black oxide is required for some industries such as for jet turbines.

I like black oxide too. None of these tools are impacts. I have collected these over about a year or so, bottom feeding eBay’s incomplete sets, rusty stuff, some of which I’ve touched up with cold blue. I paid very little for these tools.

I forget where I got the snap on extension tray. But I liked the fact that it held a mixture of 1/4” and 3/8” extensions.

These tools are in my machine shop, so these are all SAE.
