I would like to try and rebuild this ratchet.

A craftsman kit will not work.

Does anyone know where I could find a repair or rebuild kit?

Thanks

That's one of the Williams made ones. They haven't been produced for quite a few years. I think you're very likely out of luck. Your only option is probably trading it in for one of the new imported ratchets.

The ratchet might match a current or obsolete Williams ratchet. Try going to snaponindustrialbrands.com and see if they have a ratchet that matches yours, or perhaps they can give you a cross-over part number.

It may be similar to the 36 tooth Williams ratchets. But the problem is that none of them have a quick release, at least that I know of, so that's a major difference.

Perhaps the non-quick release Williams gear would fit, but I have no idea.

Neither lowes or williams can help from what they tell me.
It is a nice long handle ratchet to but I still love my SK ratchets to no end.

repair kit seems to possibly be the same as a williams RATCHET 31001. Williams told me repair / rebuild kit is 31001RK  . My local Turtle & hughes tool distributor is going to see what the pricing is.

What makes you believe they are the same? They have a similarly shaped handle, but that's just a cosmetic thing. Note the different front plate design. Your ratchet has a snap ring while the Williams ratchet has two screws that go through the head.

Perhaps someone who has this ratchet, or one of the 36 tooth Williams USA ratchets, can measure the gear for you to compare. I don't have either, or I would offer up some help.

The Williams ratchet you're referring to is made in Taiwan as part of Williams' imported line. It's the same as the Blue Point ratchet.

I saw my snap on guy about a RKRBPRFR938 kit and it was almost perfct except the pawl attaches to the swith in a different manner .

I need a long fixed handle to replace it. It's gonna be an SK 45179 most likely.

This looks to be an old thread, nonetheless I just picked up a used Kobalt 03031 3/8" Long Handle ratchet. I'm almost in disbelief that it says USA on it, as well as the 10" bar extension that came with it. I did take it apart to inspect it and it appears that someone over torqued the ratchet and some of the teeth on the pawl and on the round gear are a little misshaped. I would love to buy a rebuild kit for this but it might just remain a relic of the past. It's a shame as the rest of the ratchet is in excellent shape. I might have to just trade it off at Lowe's for another foreign replacement BUT I hate to do that unless I know it's a hopeless cause to restore it.

I would try to find a kit for it before trading it. The new Kobalt ratchets are pretty good but when you go fast with them the selector switch moves out of position and it gets annoying fast. These were much better. Depending on if you have the Williams or Danaher version one maybe easier to find a kit for than the other. And my Lowe’s doesn’t do warranty so good luck unless you call Kobalt directly.
