Already have a Gearwrench 120XP 3/8 flex, so I'm seeing how low this price will go before I order. Not sure what I need it for, but you guys seem good at making me buy more tools....

I don't know how many times I've looked at this thread, but I'm in the same boat. I have a whole slew of 3/8 ratchets and don't really need these, but for some reason, I keep looking and thinking "hey, it's a good deal!"

got 2 and bent one,, was thinking about getting another. What is the opinion of bending the 3 in the opposite direction of the first, any benefit? what do you guys think?

I got 3 of these ratchets (damn you garagejournal), bent one, and I'm saving another one for when I run into a situation where I need a custom handle ratchet made. So yeah, I'm just waiting till I need to use it to make a custom tool.

I don't know about bending it the other way, if your looking to make it different; I planned on doing a hard handle mod to my third one. Going to cut it down as short as I can go and put a Kobalt screwdriver handle on it. For what I work on I find allot of use for short handled 3/8" flex heads.

For those of you bending them

Not sure how you have time to work in the garage since you must be at the Gym 6-8 hours a day.....but they have a lifetime no questions asked warranty
Just return them

I believe they are talking about a deliberate mod to offset the wrench.

I pulled out one of the two torx screws. I squirted some lithium grease through the hole. I put back the screw.

I learned this the hard way after totally disassembling the first one.

BTW, I finally found the ones in my local store. They were near the replacement filters for the Shop Vacs. Not in the tool section nor the garden section.
I took mine completely apart one day at work, along with about 6 other ratchets, and oiled them all. what was the issue taking it completely apart?

In my Lowes there are some on the shelf with other ratchets, and some in the lawnmower section on one of those vertical hanging clip things.

I don't have a T9. I too simply removed one of the larger screws and shot some white lithium in there, using the red straw. Maybe not perfect lubricant distribution, but, until I get a T9, better than leaving it bare.

I bought one for me, one for my son, one for his friend for picking up the mail while we were out of town, and one for my dad........thinking about scooping up the others for gifts, only a few left at my store.

Picked up a set today for the $12.58.:rocker: Last week they were $14 and change. They're marked as clearance, so Lowes may be getting rid of their inventory of these kits.

I finally picked one of these up Saturday, last one at the particular store I was at. Pulled a screw and dribbled oil in from an oil gun at work. HOLY **** this thing is nice. Smoother than my matco 88. Going to put fresh lube in my matco to be fair and see, can't say I've ever lubed it since I got it. Probably going to hit up another store to try and find one more. Too good of a deal to pass up.

After adding some lube to my kobalt ratchet it's about as smooth as my snap on dual 80 but the SO has twice the teeth engaged so that's not really fair.

I gave up trying to find these in either of the local stores (after trying ALL of the usual locations from garden to tools) so I just placed an order online and picked it up at the service counter.

Interestingly enough, when I asked the person I picked it up from where they were located... she couldn't tell me.

Just order online for pickup and save yourself the misery of walking all over the store.

Just picked up another set. 12.58 at the store in Tosa. There were at least another dozen on the display. Don't know if I am going to keep it and bend it for a pair or give it to my FIL when we visit them this weekend. I definitely like the action. Just need to get used to it.

just picked up my second one today. this one is going into my tool can in the bed of my truck to replace the one i have in there now.
the tool dept. guy at lowes saw me walking with it and even said it was a damn good deal for just the ratchet. i got it home and opened both of them up and they were bone dry inside. lubed them up and they are nice and smooth now. i also took apart, cleaned, and lubed my craftsman ratchets while i was at it. they were way overdue.

wish they had a deal like this for a 1/2 drive.

Good point - I walked my local Lowes one afternoon and couldn't find them - they had been in the tool section - I asked the person working there (older gentleman - they usually know) - and he didnt have a clue. Looked on My Lowes phone app the next day and it shows 15 in stock. I went back to the store with the stock number, customer service did not have a clue, but keyed in on "spark plug". The lady said "we sell lawnmower spark plugs on aisle 28 - they might be over there" - sure enough - a full rack was on display with the lawnmower parts.
It sounds like it is pretty much a dice roll finding the display in any store.

Went in today to check it out again. It rang up $15.27 But as is my habit I can't resist checking out out the clearance bin and guess what....$10 for just the ratchet. I bought it and put the kit back (they still had 11 on the rack). It has some shelf wear but is basically new.

Picked one up last week when I saw the $12.** price tag, my store still had 20+ in stock, so I can imagine another price drop hopefully.

Well ****, lubed my matco and it got smoother but occasionally hangs up. Lucky the matco guy comes tomorrow...

What are you using to lube your ratchets? Something like Rem-oil, or lithium grease? I ask because I never even thought of lubing my ratchets... it might actually make a difference.
