I was in lowes last week and didn't see them with the other ratchets or even in the immediate tool area. I asked an employee and he had no clue what I was talking about. I walked out of the enclosed tool area to check out some sliding compound miter saws and and noticed several display boxes full of the spark plug ratchet sets on the bottom shelf. Maybe they don't want people to notice the price difference between their regular ratchets and the spark plug set.

They had them right next to the ratchets and extensions at my store, so seeing how good og a deal it was, was easy.

Give them the item number at the store and have them look it up on their computer. If they have it in stock, their computer should tell them where it is at.

Walking around willy nilly looking for it is not going to get you the same results.

I didn't have my phone to look up the number to tell them. Neither time was I planning to go into a lowes either.

Went as far as getting the manager involved at least, far from walking around willy nilly don't you think?

I am not excusing the store for not having them in a more known and accessible area of the store, but it is quite evident from the other comments that this set is not normally stocked in the tool area in most stores.

Better yet, order it online with store pickup. That will get them the location and they will do the pick and you can get it at the Customer Service counter. That is what I did.;

I cant order it online.

Long story short:
Im on the road for work, happened across a couple lowes a few days apart, neither store seemed to have them.

If i order online there isnt a store i can really pick from, dont know where i will be from day to day. I could pick a store closer to home but that is almost an hour away and who knows when i will be home, days, weeks.....months.

Well I love my Craftsman 3/8 flex with bent handle. I decided to customize one of the fine tooth Kobalts. For 20.00 I will give it a shot.

After not finding the set the past couple times I found it in the mower section. I bit even though I need another 3/8 drive ratchet like I need a kick to the balls. I'll likely give it to a friend or something. I just couldn't resist after chasing this deal for a few weeks!

Brian, how did you bent that kobalt? Good job, if it break you can swap it for another:)

print the ad out and show them.
Probably have it in the store somewhere.

Got a chance to check another lowes which is odd for me, i dont get to go to lowes more than once or twice a year let alone getting to go to two different ones a few weeks apart.

Anyways this time i checked every single isle since i had time to kill, nothing.

So i asked, they had no idea what i was talking about. The sales associate got the manager and even he had no idea what i was talking about, he swears that this kit does not exist and never has.

But i heard it on the internet! Its gotta be true, they cant put anything on the internet that isnt true! Lol

I have a chance to check yet another lowes tomorrow, slim chance but possible i might be near one.

I used a press to bend it. I have a home made press break, used the upper v part and set the ratchet on the arbor plate cut outs. Sounds hack but it worked great.

why is the bend so desirable? It is obvious that I am not a mechanic so I don't know or been in situation where a bent handle comes in handy.

How much you charge to bend one for me if I send you the ratchet?

Hard to reach areas. Better position for spark plugs.

Works great for spark plugs. I just replaced upper control arms an a ranger and used it due to the access to the rear bolt.
Shipping charges might cost more then the ratchet.

Check out the lawn mower parts, automotive, and tool sections.

They should be on a hanger near the end of the aisle, not a separate display.

I'm working at Lowe's as a summer temp and our store has them with the lawn mower stuff, while our other store has them hanging in the tool section. These sets are a not a regularly stocked item so they don't have a set "home" within the store.

At my Lowes they are in a cardboard stand sitting next to the ratchet aisle.

That was the case at the Lowes that I picked mine up at, except it was in the accessory isle in the lawn mower area. It was completely loaded as if it is a new promotional item that they're rolling out. $18, what a deal! Thank you op!

I really like this, it's the best 3/8 ratchet I used. The flex is stiff enough that it stays at the angle you want and the ratchet is smooth enough to work on loosened nuts/bolts and the handle is long enough to give you the leverage needed for most fasteners, even for suspension nuts and bolts. Big thumbs up!

Got mine today.. Looked all over for them. they werent in with the ratchets, they werent with the lawnmower parts. I had the service counter look the number up and they showed they had 20 in stock but didnt know where they were.
We found them out in front of the tool area in a display box near the table saws..

good deal, thanks OP

Thanks for the heads-up on this! My first flex-head ratchet & I had a Lowes coupon to use. Will have it picked-up on wknd, along with Knipex pliers.

Needed to register & say this forum has helped me make some wise choices in tools for less money. A great exchange of information here.

Picked one up today too. They were hidden behind some other items just like others have mentioned. Decent little set for the price. Shame the head wasn't a bit thinner though.

For $18...I'm tempted to buy a second set.

Since they have lowered the price...I wonder if these sets are being phased out now?

I finally took a plunge and bought the kit. Nice ratchet but really dry and needed greased.

Should i open it up and grease it? Ive never opened a ratchet before.

Would it even need it? I have to imagine that if it was supposed to have grease in it then it would have been manufactured that way.

Both of the ones I bought were completely dry- no oil or other lube attempts apparent during manufacturing. Not hard to take apart and oil/lube but as with some other ratchets, don't let the springs get away from you during disassembly ;-)

I greased the one I bought. It can't hurt. Couple of torx screws and its opened. Like others said just be careful of the springs. I'm still looking for the one from a dang take down pin lol.

you guys must be had fisted at removing them, ive never had a spring jump out on me, depending on what lube you use you can just remove one of the screws and pour a lubricant in.
