I had bought these sometime ago and right out the package they where junk. I returned them the next day. I didnt even use them first bc they where just that ******. There always on sale. I would not recommend them even if they were free.

I got these at $7.98 last month. Like Lightning02 said, they are straight up TRASH. No lie, I have a pair from Harbor Freight that are better.

i honestly dont think they are really that bad, for $3 a piece, you can trash them and throw them in the trash, my lowes had 1/2 off their clearance tools so i pick up 3 sets for $4 a set. i use them for welding pieces of angle together or holding things.....i wont feel bad if i accidentally weld them to the piece or drop it on the ground......but then again, with my receipt i have a lifetime warranty on them......and they are clearancing these out to get the new style in.....which are already in my store....so if i ruin a pair...ill check out if the new ones are better. cheap...disposable.....works for me. id be pissed if i was using a pair of SO or other high $ and welded on them.

well if your looking for a type of "disposable" tool then yes i understand buying these but otherwise i wouldnt.

i wounder how the new style are? havnt looked into them since these where just that bad and they needed mass improvements for me to even think about buying them.

understood, but you are not going to get GRIP-ON pliers grip from lowes at 9 bucks for a set of 3. but i can understand what you are saying that they arent that good, at first i thought they were ****, but once i used them a few times and broke them in....they at least have a nice clamping grip and a cushioned handle....plus like before, lifetime warranty....if i break one sometime, ill swap it for a new one and let you guys know if they are any better

mine didnt have a no cushioned handle. just some cheap junk plastic that was glued in place with glue all over the handle like some 2 year old did it as a school project lol the thin needle nose ones didnt close right. the teeth wouldnt line up.

i know kobalt isnt the best out there but they do have some good hand tools. not sure why they would want there name on that junk. i mean when its worse then HF stuff thats saying alot lol

Argh. These are one of the worst purchases I've ever bought. They're not vise grips. They grip and round off their teeth on the first job if you're trying to lock and turn anything. Mine are now used as clamps to hold things in place rather than lock and turn a stuck rounded fastener or stud.

These sound like good bases to weld on your own modified uses for them. Maybe a shop light using these as the mount for clipping to irregular shapes. You won't feel bad about modding the jaws to whatever you want them to be.
