Has anyone hooked up their new compressor yet? If so, how does it keep up? I hope this compressor will suffice.

Like I said, I've had one for about a year. You can out-run it with a DA sander or die grinder, but for anything else, it's more than sufficient.

A large IR or Quincy is quieter because they spin the pump slower (this one's not 2-stage).. . but it's ten times quieter than an oil-less. Mine's on the other side of the wall from the sofa in our living room. You can TELL that it's running from inside, but there's no need to turn up the TV.

Awesome, that is what I want to hear. Sorry I must have missed your other post. I am currently running a small oil-less and it is very loud. I do bodywork and need something that can keep up when painting. With a low-consumption gun I think this will work fine. I am ok with waiting for it to catch up with the DA.

I've got my new Kobalt up and running. I had no problems what so ever and was impressed by the air output. I did buy a drain valve for the bottom water drain and a ball valve for the air supply. Awesome compressor for the money.

Thanks guys. I will be picking it up when they come in, within the next week or so. I will do the same mods you did zapper. Luckily I was able to return to the store and get the additional 10% off. I think this will fit the bill perfectly. The money was definitely right.
