I am aware that Williams made socket sets, looses sockets, wrenchs, ratchets, bit sockets, flare nut wrenchs etc.
My question is what else did they produce for Lowes under the Kobalt label ?
Did they make screwdrivers ,ajustables or any other tools I am not aware of ?
I have been looking high and low at all the pawnshops and fleas looking for all the Williams made Kobalt tools that I can locate, I just want to make sure I am not leaving any behind.
Any pictures would be helpful!
Thanks for help in my latest quest .

That's a good question! Lacking any specific knowledge on this, I'd try to look at what Williams makes today that's still USA, and then look for Kobalt USA versions of the same tools. At least, I'm assuming that by looking for Williams Kobalt you're interested in the USA stuff.

Well, maybe not. After all, if they're not made any more, one could conceivably call them vintage. But i think you might get better responses in the General section because they're still in common use.

1998 was almost 20 years ago. I'd say that this question is in one of the right places.

Williams stopped producing tools for Kobalt around 2003ish.

I know that at one point Kobalt screwdrivers were made in the USA by Great Neck Saw up in NY state. They might have gone to China with them by now though.

If you'll do some forum searching, you'll find some answers as this issue has been raised before. I have a williams produced Kobalt set of impact sockets that I bought from Cripe. That was probably 5 years or more ago. I know the issue was discussed here at the time.

Thanks, I have read the threads about the Kobalt made by Williams before posting this thread. I have the impact set from Cripe also.
I was most interested in what all Williams produced for the Kobalt line. I actually
Purchased some Kobalt from Lowes at the time and from what I remember it was priced a bit higher than both Craftsman and Husky even though the quality was far better than both combined. It was closer to tool truck quality.

I don't have much to add. I have one single Kobalt/Williams tool. It's a 3/8 breaker bar. Not a daily necessity but at the time that I bought it, it saved the day. I wish I would I would have known then what I know now. Now all offshore... I pride myself in my DIYer all, and I mean ALL made in USA TOOLS in my box. What that really means is a large amount of used tools, some HJE purchases, some recent SK purchases. I would have bought more hard line Kobalt back in the day if I had been a member of this site. I wrench on my own fleet if I have the time and ability. BUT my 1948 WILLYS Jeep. Made in Toledo, Ohio../ I try not to EVER have someone else wrench on it. So when I do, it's ALL USA tools. Because I KNOW that's how it was built. Easy to work on. For a reason. It's DNA ancestors were built to win a world war
