I have several Kobalt USA wrenches. Is there a way to tell if they were manufactured by Williams or Danaher? I understand that after Danaher, Kobalt production went to JS Manufacturing (USA). Is JS still making them at their Taiwan factory?

You can pretty easily tell just by looking at them which is which I think.

Not sure who is currently making them, but the Kobalt line like wrenches has been both Taiwan and then China after leaving the US.

The Williams made wrenches have a v-notch instead of the curved throat on the open end, and also have very flat polished panels. They came in 6 or 12 point box ends. Danaher look like Armstrong or KD or Allen with the curved throat and rounded satin panels. Pictures are not mine, but I collected from here at GJ.

I did not know JS had anything to do with Kobalt. I have sockets from SK with the JS name on them.

Thank you, mine are definitely made by Danaher then. I guess the Williams are more desireable but the Danahers do seem well made.
