I've been looking for a 25-30gal 120v compressor for my shop and have been looking at these Kolbalt quiet tech compressors, specifically the 26Gal one:

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-QUI...tric-Vertical-Quiet-Air-Compressor/1000405189

They also have a 2gal and a 4.3, the 4.3 looks surprisingly similar to the California air tools 4620xx.

Anyone have any experience with these? Are they junk? I've been waiting for Lowes to get some in stock for a few weeks. Are these made by California Air Tools for Lowes or have they found some far east manufacturer to make a pot metal knockoff for them?

Not the Kobalt, but i have a 1HP rated CAT compressor. quietest compressor i've ever used. I can't speak to longevity, because all i do is fill and change tires with it.

I have the 26 gallon It is vary quiet.
I am coming from a pancake compressor so it is a big upgrade all around.
Only 2 things I have been using it outside in the yard and since it is a bit top heavy use 2 hands when going over uneven ground. The wheels roll good.

I tried to use 2 smaller gauge extension cords to make a long run (25ft and 50ft) and the compressor would not start. dragged out my heavy gauge 100ft cord and it worked.

I would be serprized if it was not made buy California air tools it has the same on off switch, and the pumps look the same too.
Did you look in the store? my lowes online sad not it stock but they had 2 in stock at my store.

What are you planning on doing with the compressor? If you only want it for occasional use that is one thing, if you want t for all day every day use that is something else.

Thanks for the suggestion, dropped by while the wife was shopping for clothes down the street and they had one in stock.

I've only unboxed it, it looks great for the price. Cant wait to test it out.

I'm looking at this exact model and I'm wanting to know if it will run a impact/die grinder for occasional use. Die grinder for gasket prep mostly (valve cover, head gasket, etc) and Impact only when my cordless is down.
