This past Sunday I purchased a Kobalt 3/8 drive teardrop ratchet #22800 (made in USA) at my local flee market for $2. The ratchet needed cleaned up and oiled, so I took it home, tore it apart, serviced it and put it back together. I noticed that the design, guts, and even quick-release button of the ratchet are very similar to the newer Craftsmans of the past 10 or so years. I was wandering if these older Kobalt ratchets were also made by the Danaher or similar company who made or makes the Craftsmans. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Made by the same company that made the latest USA Cman RP ratchets. The handle is different and the selector switch is also iirc.

Yes, or very likely.

My guess if newish but USA stamped than Danaher.

I've got a few sets of various Kobalt USA tools bought back in the early 2000's that are Danaher.
Not bad. Not great. For that time and price they were very capable back then.
