These taiwanese socket sets are on clearance for 9.99 with a decent rail (both metric and sae). Not a bad deal.
Is all the Kobalt mechanics stuff going from Taiwan to China?

These? They're all Chinese at my store. I checked them out a few weeks ago.
I used the SAE ones on my 1/4" impact (with a 3/8 adapter) to break loose some lightly rusted cap bolts and they worked flawlessly. I went back and bought the metric ones…pretty nice for the $$. My Lowes had the Taiwanese ones.

I know its not the exact same thing but I would avoid the kobalt long hex sockets with the ball end. I picked up a 5mm and broke the ball off the first time I used it. It is weak metal. The fastener was barely past snug. I am unsure of coo of the one I purchased.
