I have tried the hansen socket trays and did not like how the sockets wobbled because of how the sockets did not sit flat, the sockets sit on a cone.

I have also tried these trays but they take up 4 trays.

the kobalt trays can hold a "complete" set of sockets, regular and deep in 2 of my 22"x14" drawers metric in one standard in the other with room to spare. And unlike the hansen trays my sockets sit flat.

Don't sockets sit upside down on hansen trays? I have the kobalts though i like them a lot better then the hf ones for about the same price

I bought 6 sets of these. 3 metric and 3 standard. 2 for chrome metric 6pt and 12pt, 2 for chrome standard 6pt and 12pt, and 2 for 6pt impact sockets

Anybody have a pic of the Kobalt next to the Hanson? I'm already started with the Hanson, and if the two look similar, I might be able to get away with having both, but if they are substantially different, my OCD will drive me crazy over the differences.

lol i know how you feel. the kobalt ones are different colors. red for SAE, blue for mm. the kobalt trays come in 2 styles. one looks like the hansen trays, the other doesn't.

As a fellow OCD sufferer, what do you guys do with the pegs that you don't have sockets for? I never have every size, and the blank spaces drive me crazy...

I just checked these on Lowes.ca, as I am in Canada. For whatever reason they have the standard 3 pc set listed twice. Once for the regular 25$ or w/e and once for 4.50 I ordered the 4.50 one and it went through. Obviously haven't got it in the last 5 minutes but I will let you guys know.

I thought the Hansen-style Kobalt trays were discontinued a long time ago? I've never seen a set in 2 years...

These are great, I got a set last year at this price. You should never pay full price for them, just wait until the next sale comes around if you miss it this time.

I think the ones still around are just old stock sitting on shelves.
They had some of the 'Hansen style' trays at my local Lowes up until about a year ago. Looked like they'd been sitting there for a LONG time, and a lot of the pegs were snapped off. Now they just have the boxes of the current ones sitting there.

Hansen trays are available on ebay and amazon. I got mine through ebay. 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 drive for Metric and Standard ran me ~$60
