I was looking at those yesterday. I agree that they seem to be of higher quality than the competing Sears model. I think that model may have been on sale yesterday for Black Friday as I saw some guy carrying one out at about 6:30 yesterday morning. I really like the overall feel of the unit. Depending on the sale price, I would look at one pretty heavily if I needed a box.

BTW, a little plus is that all the droors are lined with matching blue Kobalt liners, and it also comes with a nice matching Kobalt cover. This shouldn't sway your decision obviously but I was impressed that they included them, Sears doesn't.

EDIT: I just looked at the BF sales flyer and the sale price yesterday was no better than the one you posted. It is a nice price for what seems to be a quality tool box.

I have one their 26" stainless boxes (top and roller) .... much higher quality than the stainless boxes from Costco & Sam's.

I am very pleased with mine.

The price listed at your link is the sale price for this weekend. The box is on sale from Fri to Sun.

I even have my 10% off Lowes coupon ready to go.

My concerns on this box:
-How long will the rubber trim on the drawers last? I don't see that soft rubber having a 20 year life. Could always remove a few on the demo box at lowes to see what is underneath
-Is this box build better than the Craftsman "Ball Bearing" line? I have not had the time to compare the two

I am not impressed with the Cman std. ball-bearing line. The Kobalt has a much nicer feel to it. I think Kobalt wins on build quality.

i saw toolboxes at lowes last night. the all bearings seem different and i dont know how load it will hold... some of the ball bearing are small and other one big... i had no problem with my 40 in wide craftsman ball bearing slides... it is loaded limit at 50 lbs but i put about 60 or 65 lbs on it. it is still work...

It isn't "made into" the drawers ... it's just a piece of rubber that is laid IN the drawer. Just buy new drawer liner material to replace. Simple.

Thanks all. Seems like a reasonably good deal then. Especially with a 10% off coupon!

I almost started a thread on these just yesterday. I was impressed with them as well. They just seemed to have a nice feel to them. As far as longevity goes, for the price I'm sure they will last as long or longer then any other box in the same price range.

have to admit i am heavily considering picking up one of these tomorrow as well.

From what I can see it looks pretty well built. Th drawers slide nicer than craftsman in my opinion and the box just seems more stout. Anybody have any idea how heavy the combo set is?

Also I thought it would be nice to have a hangle of some sort on the lid but I suppose it could always be added if it became to much of a bother.

It isn't a drawer liner. It is a strip of rubber along the handle. I don't think it would be a problem. If the adhesive gave out, just epoxy it back on.

There is no rubber strip along the handle.
The model I looked at had rubber along the handle. Maybe this model doesn't, but this "option list" leads me to believe it is the same.
•Recessed soft-grip handles
•Integrated 4-plug power strip

i think the "recessed soft-grip handles" are the handles on the sides. The display model I looked at had thin rubber strips over the edges of the drawer handles. I also thought they would probably come off, but really wasn't to concerned about it.
