Kobalt Wrenches (new model) Questions...

i am curious about New Kobalt wrenches. i has Older Kobalt wrenches but it is my collection. but i has seen the lowes sell set for 20 dollars. i did bought the metric and SAE shallow sockets set for my work as keep in service cart...

now i am interesting on Kobalt wrenches for home use or swap from my work 's to my home wrenches sets??? problems is i has craftsman set but no sears near me unless need to drive like 40 miles to my preferred sears... lowes are just 5 miles away from my home. the tool warranty are very important to me as i dont like to have a tool bucket for all broke tools!

sears and lowes have the same no hassle warranty on broken tools. The 20 bucks special are good quality wrenches. Just avoid the xtreme metric and sae in 1.

They are good wrenches.The warranty is very good.Walk in with a broke tool.They tell you to go back get the replacement.Go back up to the service desk.The clerk does theyre thing and your done.

I looked at them and I wouldn't pay 20 cents for them unless I was desperate. The Taiwanese are getting good with their sockets, but they got a long ways to go with their wrenches.

i do like craftsman but just dont want break and need drive far away for warranty replacement but afraid to see china wrench replacement for my ole craftsman wrench....

They are from Taiwan, not china. They are well made.

umm... should i just get both sae and metric? so i can just use it and grab it out for travel when i am go on vacation? my family fleet vehicles have over 95K except my cummins has 205K miles...

I've picked up these sets about a dozen times over the past few months and I put them back every time. The wrench feels good and the chrome is good, but then I look at the box ends and the broaching/punching of the 12 points are inconsistent. On the larger wrenches they look pretty good but on the smaller ones they look rounded/ground down kind of. Then I look at the open and they are shiny and smooth with no hint of machineing under the chrome which makes me wonder why not so I pu them back on the shelf.

Whatever you do... DO NOT buy the x-treme axxess wrenches.

Spline wrenches they have stretched the sizes to fit metric and SAE in one wrench...

Its a recipe for disaster if you are doing anything other than assembling a fake Christmas Tree...

Wow. That is interesting to me. That why I had noticed the eBay has selling the Xtreme sets..

The sears set of universal are much better, they fit right. As they have a metric set and a sae set.

But if you go with spline wrenches, Protos are what you really want to get. But they are not cheap.
