yes good japenese brand along with gedore stahlwille all good stuff.
The other wrinkle in the market is trade suppliers with their own import program, if the product is Taiwan sourced and well specced it will be equivalent to products 10 times the price.
The issue is not so much country of origin but quality decisions of the wholesaler and then wholesale and distribution costs.

I would definitely buy them. I have a few Koken singles, no sets though. They're nice, the stuff I've seen I would put on the same level as Gedore.

Oh yeah. Thinking about picking up some 3/8" standard metric sockets, as a matter of fact.

I only have one single solitary Koken socket, a 19mm ½" drive allen, but
it certainly looks and feels very good quality.

I would say you are getting 95% Snap On quality for 25% of the price.

My dad had the standard gedore sockets used them for everyday for 20 years on ratchets and numatic rattle guns and he said he only broke a handful of sockets, my opinion is gedore sockets would be hard to beat

Thanks, I placed the order for a set of 3/8 shallow and deep metrics, ended up more like a 1/3 of the price of snap on with VAT and shipping. I will let you know how it goes.

If you could get Koken at 25 percent of Snap On prices would it be a good deal?

For 25% off I would stick with American made 100% Snap-on (free shipping and you can often negotiate a discount).

I have some Koken sockets. They are good, but not as good as Snap-on IMO.

For 25% off that would be my choice as well but as the OP is getting 75% off, I would have to go with the Koken.
