Just spotted on Dallas Craigslist this morning. A good example of how not to hang a side box on a KR-562A....

:wtf: That's not even a side box, it's a KR550 top box and a very heavy top box at that ~36" wide 20" deep. I bet that top or side box is twisted.

Yeah, obviously not a side box. I was being sarcastic. I guess he didnt want to give up his countertop space or was looking for a way to expand it.

Either way, it's wrong on a few levels...

And of course if you ever wondered what a KR562A looks like in black:

Sorry for reviving an over 2 year old thread but I had to comment on the excellent job on the KR562 restoration. I just bought one a week ago from my SO guy. Depending on how long it sits in the garage I would like to restore it. I was thinking of painting it Snap On teal. What ya think?

You are looking at a lot of work getting the inside of the drawers changed to teal. As your collection grows you will find a lot more Snap-On tool boxes in red. I would leave it red.

I have 4 SO boxes all in black, been toying with the idea to make my Taco box match the rest. I was very close last winter.

Well, talk about dump and run from a thread, what was I thinking? 2 Years later I come back to the thread only to find unanswered comments. Galaxy, my apologies sir. I did eventually sell it. A plane tech from Burbank Airport bought it for $1200, came down to San Diego with a UHaul trailer and was happier than a pig in shi...mud

6 Years later....I wanna another one. :bounce:
Sorry for bringing up an old thread. My dad just gave me one and i wanna restore it now! I have a US G cart and im outgrowing it fast. This was my dads old box from when he was in mechanic school in the 80s so im pretty stoked to get it looking good again. I was planning on buying a new box but i think restoring my dads old one would be a lot cooler then a new one. Im gonna use this thread for a ton of reference you did a great job!

Make a thread and post it. We’d love to see it.
