Is there a preferred top box for this beast? I see that a full 29" depth topper would cover the top flip up storage area (I can accept that). Maybe Snap On built a top box for this beauty that does not block access to the flip top???

I am just finishing restoration and am drooling over the massive storage it provides. Showing my true colors (there ain't never enough tool storage) I'm asking for help from others here with the same affliction.

There were two top boxed made for the 1000. The earlier one was shallower that allowed access to the top compartment. The it 1100 as ready stated. The later version was full depth so that would cover the compartment. Both top boxes had a full width bottom drawer so depending, you may not need the top compartment anymore. A 660 series top box would also fit on top, it's 50x21. A newer 1200 which is for a 1001 roller is a click wider, 1000 are 53" wide, a 1001 is 54. Fordbroncodave put a kra62 road box on top of his 1000 and it looked pretty bad ***.

I looked at a 550 about a year ago. Didn't bring a tape measure but the seller said it was 50 or 52 x 24. Good deal at 250 but the lock didn't work & it needed a few slides. I needed something ready to use.

Sometimes I think I'd like a top box for my 1000, around me you can find another 1000 cheaper than a top box if you have the room
