I have seen several garage journal posts indicating a desire to own this combination. I am also aware that this combination comes up for sale very seldom.
Here’s a setup that just came available in the Atlanta, GA area. Seems to be a decent deal for someone.

There are a couple others in this area: KR1000B only for 2200 and a KR1000B plus small top for 4000. These others seem a bit pricey.

$2000 is a pretty good deal I'll second that these boxes are tough as Hell I've had 2 and have a hard time wanting to part with mine.

I have a KR1000B that I bought off the truck used for 2 grand, I paid a tad more than I wanted but I absolutely love the box. It's a friggen tank, the drawers are huge and it holds a ton of tools.

I use it in an industrial maintenance setting, so I can't have a top chest. The work space is too valuable. That's a good buy if you wanted just the top, an even better buy for the pair.

I have a kr1000 and if that 1200 was within 250 miles it'd be on top of mine. I've wanted one for a while now.

Somewhere in Kentucky to just north of ATL? Pretty close to 250 miles? That guy delivers, so he'd probably meet you along the way.

Yes they are tough built boxes. Problem is the drawer layout makes it a tough sale. Most techs want 1 or 2 full length drawers in the top.

The top looks in real nice shape

"Sure you're not "that guy"?

Nah. At least I don't think so, but I'm pretty senile so lemme check into it and if I find out anything pertinent, I'll try to get back to you. Nice '59. old sam

I looked for a 1200 for a long time to top my KRL1001. Couldn't find one, but recently found an alternative. I think $2,000 is a fair price. Not a screaming deal, but not getting ripped off.
