KRA-396 Snap On tool box rebuild

This box is in rough shape ; missing botton drawer, missing emblem, and missing a handle. I will post photos as I restore it, here are a few for now.

very unique toolbox. looks solid and a good candidate for a restoration.

be sure you can get replacement items from snap on customer service. i am sure there are a handfull of items that are discontinued

I think they are . I was at www.collectingsnapon.com in the catalog section, (1970 cb page 016) , but its hard to tell. I am looking for the correct emblem ( missing ) , the handle for the back door, and the lower drawer. It needs a lot of work. Regards, Joseph36

I have been searching on this site and I guess its a taco cart . Cleaned it up , will start to paint it soon. Here are a few photos. Anyone got a handle like the one shown ? Joseph36

Not what is commonly referred to as taco cart. That is a different box than yours.

Good luck finding that missing drawer. Will you be happy with the restore effort if you can't get that drawer????

Even assuming you can get that drawer from new from Snap-on, which I would highly doubt, it's going to cost a fortune; perhaps as much as you would pay for a whole Snap-on toolbox of that size that doesn't need a restore. But that's a rare box, so finding another exactly like it is not going to come up every day. Finding the missing drawer used will be even tougher.

Perhaps if you have some serious sheet metal skills you could make a matching drawer???

Or weld in some square tubing and sheet the bottom over where that bottom drawer would be.
