I recently bought a 1979 KRA-59C box locally. Long story short, I advised a young single mother not to take less than her asking price. Additionally, if no one purchased the box box in a prescribed amount of time, I would give her the asking price. It was a low/reasonable price BTW.
I now own, yet another, older SO box. Not without an issue however. One of the friction slides built into the box is damaged. The old A&P mechanic in me says repair and restore for a grandson or nephew. Looks like I can drill the spot welds and replace the damaged friction slide without issue. I have another drawer I can cannibalize, so the part won’t be a problem.
This forum is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things tools related. Has anyone else tackled a similar project, and if so, do you have any suggestions or ideas to help me through this process?
