How do the Snap On KRA series hold to to use? I need a lot more storage capability than my early 00's Cman 26" ball bearing grip latch setup has, and can get a decent deal on the 40" KRA roll cab and chest setup. Fwiw, I need to store my 3/4" drive stuff and a lot of larger wrenches, along with you regular sized stuff. Thanks fellas!

I know somebody who has used the Snap-on 40" KRA combo for daily use at a Chrysler dealership for the last 15 years. Few scratches but it stills in good shape.

Its not like they are junk compared to a KRL or Epiq. Less flashy and shallower drawers but still solid tool boxes.

The drawer slides have less capacity than a KRL and the drawers are fairly wide. Not sure what is harder on a box, constantly opening and closing the drawers like in a shop, or having a lot of weight placed in the drawers and occasionally opening them like a home garage

I've heard guys comment that the KRA series is made up of thinner sheet metal than the KRL series. I have a KRL and would not want the sheet metal any thinner. The bottom panel of the drawers are already a trampoline as it is. If I had it to do over again, I would've looked for a used KR series that was made in the late 1980's.

Depends how good the deal is and exactly what weight you intend subject drawers to . It probably do fine and if price is a steal then worth a try even if a few year stop gap till perfect box and deal comes along .

I have both a KRL and a KRA series chest. I see the sheetmetal being the same gauge. The KRA is smaller over all and it does use friction slides instead of rollers. The KRA is of the same high quality construction as the KRL series, only smaller and with fewer features. I use the KRA for the smaller tools as the length of the drawers is not as great as the KRL.

Hey, wanting to piggy back on this thread a little bit. I can get an early 2000s KRA4114, and KRA4107 in that $1800 range. Decent deal should I beat them up a little bit or just break out the cash?

I'm an solid DIY-er, but pretty amateur compared to most of you here. Or should I go a different route all together?

The drawers are same thickness. I have a KRA that I use as my press box it is overloaded. Seriously overloaded basically a box filled with sizes of metal spacers, slide hammers and pullers(just about everything on puller board. At this point no drawer distortion. The old Waterloo it replaced was starting to lean to one side.
My driver is impressed that it holds that much.

I would beat them up a little, to what extent will depend on box condition and what you think it worth to you.
That only a 40" box and drawer depth is only 18" roughly from what I remember of them, I wouldn't pay over 1,500 unless super tidy or it my best and only option .
Still a good worthy box if condition and price right, obviously sell on easily too being snappy and decent order so you don't loose much or anything down the road if need a box change again .
