I know they are fairly crappy, at least the one I have is.

Top is bearing slides, bottom is friction.

Mayyyy have accidentally won the auction. It sold a few weeks ago for $2200, I guess they didn't pay🤮🤢.

Maybe the seller accidentally out bid you? I’d bale.
Huh? It's a surplus auction, the seller wouldn't bid.

It's ~$1600 for me. Plus fees, 5% i think, maybe 10.

Many times I have been over bid by someone and I have stopped bidding only to have the “ring person” chasing me down and trying to get me to buy the vehicle for the last bid I had made. Obviously the owner was bidding me up or the auctioneer was “rafter bidding” to get a higher price. In either case I refused to purchase the item at any price. This is a cut and paste but its what i meant.

Online auction. Hardly any auctions are in person anymore.

I had a guy blatantly using a proxy to bid up his listings on eBay. Reported him to eBay, they didn’t care he’s still selling. Ended up winning a couple things on other listing, I told him to kick rocks. No more bidding for me, buy it now or nothing

What year is that thing that it uses friction slides on the bottom? I think the lower box layout *****, but that's a personal thing. IDK what KRAs go for in your area but that'd move around 2k with all bearing slides off the truck as a used item.

Just going to jump in here and say that I wouldn’t consider a KRA series box as “pretty crappy” even with friction slides.
As a new dealership mechanic I bought this lower KRA series box used in about 1978. IMG_7205_Original.jpegIt was in daily professional use for the next 22 years at which time I bought another KRA three bay roller cabinet. The new KRA did have roller slides which I’ll admit are nice.
I used the new box professionally for the next 17 years until I retired.

I guess I’m glad that there weren’t as many choices in 1978, but my used box held up well and helped me make a good living. Just $.02 from an old guy

I have one from 2000 and it's a pile of junk. It makes my $325 Husky boxes seem high end.

Definitely not junk boxes, but not sure I'd pay $1600+ fees for it unless I really, really needed it. I had a set and sold them several years ago.

I bought the same box new around the same time frame. Although it's no longer in a professional setting, the friction slides are still smooth and that box gets used regularly.

If it was the KRA-4107 with the full width drawers, it'd be worth more, at least to me. I have the top box with the 2-bay layout, and struggle to find uses for the narrow drawers. With that said, that stack with all full width drawers would be worth $1600 to me if I needed a good box. I like my KRA.

ETA: My 41" KRA sits on top of a 46" Husky right now. The KRA is a MUCH better built box than the Husky

I have the same box with a little side cabinet. Paid my neighbor $1100 for it about 10 years ago (I was in college and he let me make payments).

It certainly gets the job done but I really don't think it's much better than a current day Husky box.

Been thinking about possibly selling it or trying to trade for something more heavy duty.

Yeah. Mine i bought in 2003 or 4 for $1000. Top and bottom.

It's thin light duty steel and the drawer slide latches are annoying. Only 18"? Deep too. Or 20?
I forgot the model. Had 2000 or 01 commemorative stickers for some motorcycle drag chick. I removed all that.

Bought 2 Husky 24x48ish for about $650 new from Homes Depot. They are at least same quality of the Snap On.
