Kra4114 Replacement Struts

Thought I'd pass this information on to anyone that may need it. I have a Snap-On KRA4114 top chest that the struts were failing. It's part of a combo KRA4114/4107 that I purchased off craigslist a few years back. The top lid struts have been questionable since I purchased it.

I have read on GJ that some people have gotten SO to warranty the struts. When I called they wouldn't. They did however give me the current part number of 1-2269 (old part num was 1-2169) and a price of $45.50 per strut. Since they wouldn't warranty, I started searching the net for replacement aftermarket struts. Luckily I found a cross reference on the struts. They are made by Suspa and have a part num of C16-09461. Purchased them off amazon for $28 for a pair.

Obviously better if you get free warranty SO ones but if anyone needs them $28 is a good price for a set and they work well. Made in the USA. They may even be who makes them from SO but who knows.

Lift depot had the cross reference p/n. Would have bought from them but amazon was a little cheaper and I have prime.

Yup, Suspa makes a lot of the struts in industry....I've mentioned this before. Good deal. Many things are like this, the OEM buys from a supplier. If you can find that supplier, you often do better on price.
