Cut the site for the slab today. Also got the driveway alterations started but we got an inch of rain in an hour and a half. Shed site is good as I got that done before the rain but the driveway is a quagmire.
Pics tomorrow.
Will be a 6x9x3h place of solitude.

Yes metres.
Has stalled due to poor weather conditions and also a change of direction in the construction.
Was looking at a steel kit clad in colourbond.....just like everyone else. But I really don't like the look of these sheds and some of them are of dubious quality. Since I live in a forest area and hence nearby to a timber mill I am weighing up the cost of a timber framed structure clad with hardwood palings.
The only headache I see is getting the plans drawn up and getting them through council. Lots of new regulations after the 2009 fires.
Will also investigate wall and truss manufacturers to get the whole shebang prefabbed.
There is absolutely no information on the interwebs of timber garage plans or kits for here in Oz except for ecobarn by timberbuilt. http://www.timberbuilt.com.au/ecobarn/ecobarn5.html

With a title like that I new you had to be an Aussie, where abouts are you. With a saw mill close by, you must be around the middle of where the fires went through.

Nick, Yarra Ranges.

Just looked at the website, I like the barns with the crazy cut weatherboards. You could knock a few trusses up like that quite easily.

Toolangi.
Not sure if the new building regs apply to garages / sheds or just dwellings. Really don't want a colourbond shed. They just don't look right outside of suburbia.

Still dreaming.
Money all got up and left soon after it started raining....thank fark spring is here ( I cut grass for a living). Dog needed $5k worth of knee surgery, got some teeth removed from my head $3k, missus ill and more medical expenses.

But this thing will be built before xmas. After getting quotes on the "Just add water" steel kits and spending several hours building on sketchup I now know I can build a more solid structure from 4x2 mgp10 pine for 3/4 the cost and clad with weatherboard.
However I am intrigued by the pole barns that are popular in the US. I have stumbled upon a cypress stand that can provide all the bush poles I need so I am now contemplating that style while I wait for some more cash to arrive. Crushed rock for a floor until concrete can be afforded.
So who has got some free pole barn plans that I could peruse?

Getting serious now and down to the pointy end. Not long till xmas and I still dont have a shed. Working 14 to 16 hours a day at the moment...cashed up but time poor. Pulled the pin on work at half time and went and got a loader from Kennards, 13T of crushed rock and levelled the site ready to box it up for conc within the next few days.
Tin sheds are hideously expensive for what you get. So it will be stick built. 90x45 MGP10 pine frame on 450 centres. Bloke up the road has 7.6m span trusses for sale at less than $100 a piece after his house fell through. So the shed will be 9x7.6, 2.4 eave height. No roller door....barn doors instead giving 2.2 entry height.
Anyhow useless without pics....but in the coming weeks they will come.

Boxed up awaiting concreter to get back to me with a time to pour...Paying him cash and refreshments.
Will get the trusses delivered this week. 7.6m span, 22.5 pitch $75 a piece and enough to do the workshop and a carport.

Cheapest quote I got for fully installed tin shed on slab was $12300 for 6x9m 2.8H from Fair Dinkum sheds in Lilydale. Will come in under that for a larger and stronger structure that looks and performs a whole lot better.
