Found an early 2000's Snap-on KRB box (KRB1104/1107) in the local classifieds. I think it is actually a Blue Point box, but all the badges are snap on, as are the sliders. Made in Canada. Here is the same box inthe current catalog http://www.snapon.com/tool-storage/krb-tool-storage.asp
It is in great shape for the most part, and the absolute lowest I can talk him down to is $750. I can only find two others on the internet to compare to, one old ebay auction and a random forum post on another board. Both were asking less than $600. Should I just take it at $750?

I really like the size of this box, its 29" wide and 20" deep. Any alternatives to a KRB that you can recommend in this price range?

Thanks.

I don't think that is a terrible price if in real good shape. Now 40" kra's are always price stupid high because the guy thinks, "well it's a snap on, it must be worth a ton." Those are ok boxes, but a lower line then kra. They where only made for a few years arounds the 2000's. About the only thing in a comparable price range would be a Menards 36". Otherwise watch for used 36" SO combo from the late 80's to early 90's. Personally I would look for a kra4107 with the full width drawers than a krb/

The 41" is a little to big for my space, however. No other 20" deep boxes around 30" wide at all?

Kenndey has 29" wide boxes, other then that, 30 is kinda odd. 32-33" wide was common for years, International still makes one, otherwise that size has faded in favor for 36" and larger.

They are nice boxes, no question. Are they supposed to have drawer detents? This one doesn't seem to, so the drawers can come out easily uless the lid is closed.

no lock and roll, but the detents held them just fine. I sell them used for 800 bucks on the trucka nd will take one in trade any day of the week. easy to fix. only thing that goes wrong would be a slide or two.

Do they come up often, or if I pass on this am I going to be kicking myself?
