Iy took me several years before I could convince myself that I really NEEDED a Kreg jig, but I bought one a couple of years ago (I still have not found a good alternative supplier for their washer head screws).

Now they have the Heavy Duty Jig designed for working in 2by material (the original jig worked, but this one is designed for bigger, longer screws). Looking for feedback on folks who have popped for HD one and if you have found alternate screw suppliers.

I got it. Its pretty nice. Big screws, and very strong.

No, I too have not really found anyone else selling the washer head screws. I don't use it that much, so it's not like I go through crazy amount of screws. Just buy the biggest pack and it will last you a few years.

Any of the other screws that I have found online, haven't been much cheaper than the Kreg screws, so I just go with the big packs.

I have it. It works great. We used it to build a playhouse for the neighbors kids. When time came to tear it down, we had to saw it apart. None of the joints would open even with crowbars.

We screwed the frame together with the pocket screws, and then he sheathed it all in 1/2" ply attached mostly with construction adhesive. No way to get at the screws.
