Hey guys, I have a guy at work who is upgrading his box and wants to sell me his KRL 1022 for $2500, is this a good deal or just average. I also have an opportunity to buy a KRL 722 for $2000, both boxes are in great shape, is there that much of a difference between the two boxes?

thats a good deal for a 1022 i would go for it seeing how it is a larger box with more capacity. the 722 is 24" deep 1022 is 30 inches deep. the 1022 is 6 inches taller at 45 inches. both the same width at 54.

It sounds like a reasonable price but also factor in the less hassle. If it is a color you like and not too dirty and you can just roll it 30 ft., that's a hell of a lot easier than dealing with CL crazies and hauling one home.

Thats a great deal, I would totally pay 500 bucks more to have the 1022 over the 722. I have a 722 and its honestly not big enough, and im just a DIY at home guy. Get the 1022!

I'd grab a decent 1022 for $2500 any day, like glenmore said if it's not beat or a hideous color, it's a pretty good deal. I've only personally seen one go cheaper, it was on ebay and didn't have the model number listed, so almost no one saw it. Even if it were a little more than a bargain not having to get it loaded up alone would be worth something, but it's not, so even better. :D

I kicked around trading my krl 1022 in a newer used triple Snappy had, he said he could easily get $4500 for my box.

$2500 for that box is an excellent deal assuming it is in very good shape. In my store $2800 to $3300 depending on age and condition.

That's a "killer price" if it's in good condition and you like the color.

Usually to get that price you need to marry yourself to CL or Ebay for a few months/years and be prepared to travel half way across the country.

I watch CL relatively closely and have never seen any Snap-On 30" deep boxes for $1500. Even KRL722s and KRL761s only rarely touch $1500.

Depends on your area and you do need to follow CL for awhile to get an idea what is a deal and at what price boxes just sit and sit and sit.

There was a recent thread on Listas/Vidmars. Around here in SoCal which actually has a fair share pop up from businesses liquidating, they go for around $100 a drawer. Never fails, some guy chimes in that he buys 6-8 drawers all day long for $200. That may be in his area, but doesn't you or me any good.

Not my favorite color, but sounds like the price is fair. Heres a picture

That's just it...lots of guys here have found a 1022 for less, but that's the exception, not the rule imho. I looked for 7-8 months, got tired of wasting my time and negotiated with a CL seller on a box I liked. It was used in a shop but in pretty good condition considering, and I paid a good bit more than this deal (and it cost me over $200 and an afternoon to rent a liftgate truck and fetch this thing), so I would say $2500 is an excellent deal.

I would only consider the 722 if you need to save space (depth) or don't anticipate storing a lot of tools. The price difference between the two is more than justified by having the extra space in the 1022. It's a big difference.

Depends how much room you need and if you plan on moving it around. the 722 is better if your gonna roll it around and work off of it. there both priced good. I would pay 2000 for a 722 any day of the week then buy a new snappy roll cart for 1600. But dealer here sells those carts fast as he gets them in. That arctic silver would way look sharp with blue or red anodized trim.

Not sure where you are at, but in St. Louis the last two weeks, KRL 1022s are listed $3,000 -$5,000 and 722s are $2,300 $4,000. Price here seems to vary by week though, I think they are up a little over a month ago, I am guessing people are asking more becuase of tax returns, but I really do not know. I would by that KRL for $2500 in a second. You could easily sell it if for some reason you were not happy, and the extra square inches and retail value is worth more than $500. I backed out of a new 1022 deal hoping to find one in that range used and have not come close.
