Krl7023 drawer changes

Has anyone changed there drawers on the top section. My top drawer was damaged when my tools were stolen. It need replacing but I don't need it's depth was wondering if I could put two in its place and gain some space.

I've been looking at drawer configs on other boxes don't think this Is possible can anyone confirm

If the top drawer had double slides, maybe you could use two smaller drawers. But it sounds like it could be a project.
