has anyone done a comparison on what is better? I have both available locally.

I did FF on my last truck but I didn't keep the truck long enough to see how it

held up. The Krown looks like a good product maybe better than Fluid Film?

The FF seemed good but it come off after a winter and I didn't really care for

the smell

Either one is better than nothing. I've used both a little, not enough to say which is better from a measurable point of view.

The T40 is about $10/can, whereas FF is $15-ish/can around here... I'm good with the T40 (a.k.a. KL73).

I have no experience with Fluid Film but I have been using Krown for the last 25 years or so and it's been a great product. I get my cars sprayed annually and I currently have one that I spray myself with a shutz gun. It's a lot easier to do that you might think. I also buy their aerosol cans and use them for spot use.

I have also bought cars in the past for restoration. Knowing that I wouldn't get to them right away I sprayed some of them and let them sit for a year or so. They were a lot easier to take apart than they would have been if I hadn't sprayed them.

I have no doubt that a lot of it washes off over the winter but it's what they are able to spray into the frame, body panels, doors, etc. that's important to me.

This is the ff test: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=266327

I own several cavity guns, and have used both Krown and Rust Check. Both wash off fairly quickly from underbody, but creep nicely when applied properly to inner panels.

I have yet to see a single example, personally or otherwise of a proper application. If you do get your vehicle done by a franchise, inspect carefully areas like over fuel tanks, frame rails, behind plastic fender liners etc. and be prepared to return with a list to the shop for reapplication. I gave up and purchased my own cavity guns and attachments.

The only long term tests I could find on the web point to Noxudol, and Mike Sanders Grease as very good products. A thread on my findings is here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=606491

Noxudol is the only compound I've found that has won at least one long term test, actually contains corrosion reactive chemicals, and has been used both by Toyota and Isuzu to address safety recalls related to premature frame corrosion/failure.

I am a Fluid Film user myself. I apply it using an airless paint sprayer out of a 5 gallon pail. I also remove the door panels and spray it down in the doors. On the underside I put a nice heavy coat on everything from front to back.

The cheapest place to buy it is on Ebay. You can usually get a 5 gallon pail for under $150 shipped and a case of 12 aerosol cans for under $90 shipped. They also make an attachment for the aerosols for getting into tight spaces and seams.

CRAZY this thread pops up yesterday. Just the other day I was searching the EXACT same thing. I honestly had never heard of either products before. I just bought a new snow blower this year and wanted to make sure I started taking care of it right from the get go.

Krown is $10 a can for 400g and FF is Regular $15-16 a can for 330g.

Krown is alot closer to me so I might just pick that stuff up if there is no major difference between FF and Krown.
