I find myself up on very tall ladders these days fixing things on the barn and 2 story of the house. Both of which are on slanted ground. Sunday I was reattaching a loose board on the barn with a huge rock under one leg of the ladder. Extremely disconcerting to say the least.
So until the day that I can afford a cherry picker or the like, I was looking into these ladder stabilizers . Any thoughts on these?

This one appears to be for a brand of ladder only, but gives me and idea of how to make an extension for mine. Thoughts on that?

More detail of one of the above....

I only use Werner Ladder Levelers. While I have mainly Werner ladders the levers do fit other brands of ladders.

Not cheap but neither is a fall and a trip to the hospital or death.

Been using them for 2 decades with no problem on all of my over 12' ladders.

Drill a few holes and mount one each side. They work independently and are not a gimmick.

I swear my life by them everytime I have to get to my 30' back gutters to clean.
