Found this old hammer at an estate sale. It reads lakeside montgomery wards. You can easily find the logo on hatchets. I couldnt find another hammer with this logo. Does anyone know the history behind the lakeside company?

Thanks Woody! There must not be a ton of collectors for these tools, its hard to find info as far as logo changes and specific dates. I found this old catalog I think its from the 20’s. Its says for nearly 50 years and the company was founded in 1872. Heres are some photos of the hammers & hatchets… not quite the same logo. Anyone have any info on logo changes?

Lakeside, the name stamped on MW tools, was a company founded by MW employees, at an address owned by MW.
As I was corrected elsewhere, and as 4.c said above, no relationship to Lakeside Forge.
