My wife and I recetly bought 1300 sq ft of slightly used laminate flooring, got a good deal as it cost only 25% of new and only 2 years old. Any way installed 600+ sq feet of it in main part of house and have some left over. Since it was used there were a lot of odd length peices and locking tabs broken off some as well so there was some extra waste in the deal, which I figured on going into this deal. We have a walk in hall closet, approx 6x8 that still has some 50's style linoleum looking stuff in it, that I would like to go away. The closest is also home to the access Panel in the floor to the crawl space.

My question is has anyone tried gluing laminate flooring down similar to vct tiles? This would make it so could still remove access panel, use odd length, damaged peices. In the closet it wouldn't be subject to traffic, it would match the flooring in the hallway.

Also anybody have any good ideas for uses of odd peices of laminate flooring other then for flooring? Need to clean up what is left and if no other good use is found will be going to the dump.

Thanks for any input!

Andrew

Glue down to the access panel. With some manufacturers, that is how you are to handle stair treads. With it being in a closet and not getting much foot traffic, I wouldn't think twice about it. Just leave room for expansion around the panel for the other flooring, this way it won't bind up on your panel cover.
