Laminate Flooring Question

I am in the middle of installing ~400 square feet of v-groove laminate from Lumber Liquidators. So far pretty straight forward install with no issues.

When I finished up a small area I wiped the section down by hand with a moist microfiber towel and the joint between two boards did capture some moisture. Is it necessary to seal these joints with urethane or silicone or am I over thinking this.

Thanks for any advice.

I searched both the web and this site for this topic and could not find anything.

No need to seal anything with laminate flooring. It's not wood, but pretty much plastic.

Hi there!

Unless the joint has swelled significantly, you're fine.

You can damp-mop laminate floors without concern. I wouldn't want to spill gallons of water on it and let it evaporate-dry on its own, but a wet rag is fine.

The first laminate flooring I installed back in early 2000 was glue-together stuff. The snap-together stuff wasn't widely available yet. The instructions said that the water in the glue would swell the joints but it would flatten back out when it dried, and they were right.
