Hi,
Looking for options. Anybody ever used laminate flooring (eventually glued together) as garage floor coverage?

Will it ever get wet would be the big question. Maybe some of the vinyl style flooring will be a better choice if you want to go that style of floor.

I'm leaning more towards the concrete stain when I get to the point of doing mine. you can get more of a marble floor type look with an industrial finish on it so it cleans up well and stays nice. It's worth looking at the youtube videos on concrete staining.

depends on what your garage will be used for. parking cars I would say no. rough use, no
small workshop with not a lot of crashing & banging, probably.
I prefer the glue down LVP myself over the click together flooring.

maybe vinyl plank but i would not put laminate in, not unless you got a bunch for free and would end up with extra for repairs..

Now after more than 5 years I'm still very happy with the laminate floor.
It was unbeatable cheap, until now I've had no problem, it's still looking like brand new and it's very easy to clean. No stains by tires, no problems after a diesel leaking, which I've noticed about after one week.

I would do it again!

You're feeling like in your living room, when you are working at your cars. :bounce:

@ thomfr: Btw: What's the formula car in your garage in the first post of your garage-thread?

Thanks!
The formula car is a 63’ Foglietti Formula Junior I used to race a few years. (Pic of actual Car after I sold it)

I work at Lowe's and we sell smart core. Pretty tough. Some has a thin top layer of wood but for a garage I would think without would be better. Jim

THis or any of the composite core laminates would do it. Not to take anything from Lowes, but Sams seems to now carry a bunch of really thick stuff, in the 10~14mm range. Also same as a house - the top working layer is the deal. If you are worried about how it looks, dropping sharp shop type objects on it will cause damage to the surface. You could try for something with a thick upper "commercial" wear surface - for $$/sq/ft.

I personally wouldn't do it in a garage. It is tough stuff, but it's susceptible to water. I have it in my basement, but it's not touching the concrete.

I had to replace my laminate kitchen floor recently because of a water issue. It wasn't even a really bad leak, but it still buckled the floor. This was industrial-grade laminate too. It wasn't cheap. Biggest problem was finding new laminate to replace it. It was discontinued. I had to redo the entire floor with Luxury vinyl.

As far as I'm concerned laminate shouldn't even be made. It's like a disposable floor. Vinyl does the same thing as laminate but doesn't fail if you look at it wrong. I'd be very skeptical of any sort of residential grade vinyl flooring standing up to car traffic in a garage but it would certainly outlast laminate.
