This will be the thread for my build. in the next week or two i have a 30x40x10 pole barn shop going up. ive already started the dirt work and will get pictures up when i can. i plan on spray foam insulation, LED floodlights like pftwhftb.the other thing im debating is putting a 10x10 walled man cave in the back corner. also im looking at going mini split or conventional split system for the heating and AC. the 16'x9' garage door will be in the 30' axis and the 40' will run along side the house. im not sure which route im going with the floor. right now i'm looking at either porcelain or just clear poly on top of the cement. ive always wanted a shop and now im getting one. im only 31 so i wanted to get it early enough i can enjoy it. i plan on doing woodworking, light metal fab and vehicle restoration in my shop. well yesterday was day 1 of dirtwork and the people before me decided to bury my water line 5" below the grass. im in southern MS so no worries about freezing but the dozer destroyed the line and i had to fix it with headlights at 2000 that night. it was actually a blessing in disguise bc i realized i need to reroute the water instead of finding out later when i couldnt get to it. The other thing that killed me yesterday was i found out my job went from 10-13 loads of dirt to 20. esp since initially i was just cutting in the hill and leveling. but the way i look at it money up front is better than being pissed off later down the road. sorry for being long winded just wanted to get the first post up. ill try and get some pics up tonight.
