My wife has finally talked me into installing low-voltage lighting around the wood railing of our back deck. Each light has a flat two-conductor (2-16) lead cable pre-attached. Each of these individual light cables will splice onto a flat two-conductor (2-12) main cable (like heavy-duty speaker wire) running the perimeter of the deck.
My question regards what wire staples I should use. I have a few 3/16" single-nail staples for flat wire but the 2-16 wire is just a little wider than the staple. The only 1/4" staples I can find are for round co-ax cable and don't grip the wire tight. The 2-12 main cable will require even wider staples. Regular romex wire straps are gonna be too big and ugly. Of course, black staples would look the best.
Any suggestions on what staples are available to attach flat low-voltage cable to wood deck railing??
