Large 1/2 drive SAE deep impact socket set?

I have a bunch of farm implements, hydraulic valves, etc. that have various pins/nuts/etc. in the 1-3/8-2" range. Specifically, I need a 1-3/8 and a 1-5/8", but I'd like to buy an assortment instead of just one or two sockets as-needed. These are infrequently used... but wrangling some Cat 2 pins with a 24" adjustable wrench and a screwdriver stuffed in the retention hole makes me realize they'd come in really handy to use with my 1/2 Milwaukee impact.

Any inexpensive options for a socket set? I see Sunex has the individuals, but no set in that size. I'd prefer Taiwan but am open to other options.

I have the same impact and use a adapter for big sockets.but i found 2 sockets on amazon in the sizes you need i dont know how to post a link but all i did was google the sizes and came up with cal-hawk brand in 1/2 drive so you might go to amazon and search cal-hawk sockets. Hope that helps some.

Yup, I did find those individually... looking for a set though.

I think I might do the Sunex 2668 set, and then add on the individual sockets above 1-1/2".

The axle nut sets I've found look to be mostly metric. Have you seen any that cover the sizes I need?

Look into Grey Pneumatic. They have a lot of different options. Affordable and have a lifetime warranty. I bout a full 1/2" drive set from my Snap On dealer.

I believe that is the first 1/2" drive socket I have seen bigger than 1-9/16 (and the only 1-9/16 I have seen was Snap-on).

If you need up to 2" then you are typically in 3/4 drive range. Why not buy a 3/4 set and use an adapter? Based on the socket cost it will be a lot cheaper.

I have an assortment of MIT (now Tekton) and some Cal Hawk 1/2 drive deep impact in both metric and SAE up to 1-1/2 and 38mm sizes that I have used with a Milwaukee 2763 have had no problems.

this setup gets you out the door for under $200 and you get a ratchet, extentions, and a case


also, while waiting in my local napa for a hose to be made I noticed a lot of large 1/2 impact sockets in the rack behind the counter, maybe check them out if you have a napa close by

For larger than 1-1/2 you will likely have to go to 3/4" drive.

I looked at 3/4 sets but didn't really find any I like. That Sunex 2691 looks nice but it's pretty pricey for Taiwan. I'm actually thinking about buying 2688:

I'm not positive, but NTXtools.com might be a store to stay away from. Someone else can confirm, but I know there is a site selling tools for dirt cheap, then stealing your money and never sending you them. Don't quote me just yet though...
