I have no association with this auctioneer, but some may find this of value, especially if you are in the Wilmington NC area. This is a Honda/Acura dealership whose facility has moved.

Lots of 2 post (10k and 7k, Rotary, Western), shelving, etc. Everything from bathroom fixtures, HVAC, shelving, signage, alignment lifts, fluids handling, parts washers etc. etc.

Online auction ending Feb 1.

I live in Wilmington. I think the compressors would be a little overkill for my garage or I would bid. Maybe I'll pick up some storage racks...

I thought the same as both of you. Not a lot for the hobbyist unless you need a lift or...
But there are a number of members here who are Mom and Pop shops that may like the tire changer, the pallet of air hose reels etc. Most out of my league too.

If they are just moving, why not take it with them?

I suppose because they bought all BRAND NEW. Must be nice...

18% buyers premium.

Plus 7% sales tax in Wilmington. Also, auction prices almost always go for near retail MSRP...especially since most people bidding will probably be writing it off for their own business.

I wish I was closer, or I would keep an eye on a few items.
I've even slacked off looking at local auctions around me because the prices are maybe 10% lower than new these days...

Large companies like that would rather outfit the new place with new equipment, vs. paying a company to tear down, disassemble, haul it to the new place, reinstall, and set it all up...all for used equipment.

And since they are auctioning off the parking lot lights, breaker panels, fences, stairways, and bathroom contents...that means the entire site is getting leveled.

There is also no down time while the equipment is dismantled and moved. They might be able to start on a Friday or Saturday and work through the night to get everything moved with no down time, but the cost would likely be high.

A car dealer starting with a nice new building probably wants everything to look shiny and new.

You are correct, Reader. I am not local to Wilmington, but I would bet their new site is already running as the auction site looks deserted.
Update for the interested: 10K Rotary lifts presently at $2875, Gas heater might be a buy at $370, not sure.
Closes tonight.
