Maybe something with a closed cabinet so you dont have to look at them? Maybe the packout cabinet? Or maybe some will fit in the bigger packout toolboxes?

Closet. That's what I intend on doing. In any shop the bulkier items just collect dust.

I have my miter saws on a shelf, like what you have in the first picture. Along with the stand, jawhorse, etc.

Like mike31x suggested, I have 4 lateral file cabinets for big oddball stuff. Might not hold a miter saw, but will hold lots of "larger sized" things. I use my miter saw too much to want to put it away after each use. Here's a couple lateral file cabinets under some small drawers. I added the grab bars to give me easy grab jumbo drawer pulls. A basic 36W X 18D X 72" tall 2 door cabinet might be an option too.

Dang, that much organization terrifies me.

If it was mine, and I wanted to put a miter saw there, I would add rails to the underside, so it can slide into place easier. Orient them in such a way that makes sense, place blade perpendicular to shelf width, or parallel, then set rails so that only leading edge needs to be on shelf, and then it easily slides into place.

My Millers Falls miter box is on a board, so I don't have to hump it for each individual foot.

Just build a pull-out shelf on drawer slides, which is a good idea i had not thought of. But don’t fasten the saw to the shelf … pull out the shelf, lift the saw off, take it to the workbench or saw horses. Depending on how it is facing on the shelf, sawdust collection could be an issue, blowing sawdust onto all the other containers.

I still just put big things on shelves. It just takes more space.
To expand on this now that I've read more of this post :/

My miter saw and scroll saw live on a shelf that's just below waist height. This allows me to easily move the saw on and off the shelf without having to really lift it up onto the shelf.

Can you go taller?

8 or 10 ft tall rack ends gets you more shelf space

another option would be to build custom carts ( wood or metal fabbed ) on wheels, so it’s easy to move around inside the shop

Loft storage hang from the ceiling structure.

I bought a couple 40 ft long cargo container, placed it on some raw Desert property we would go camping on.

on one end I hung a series of fence panels laid flat w/ chain as straps, essentially made shelves 7.6 wide by 6 ft deep

the fence panels worked out great as I could reach up thru the fence slots and move totes around

NOTE - you need to aware of how much weight your storing above your head, maybe use 6 straps to the ceiling structure
