I have come across a woman who's husband passed and he has a mount of a large horned Bison in the garage. It looks to be in nice shape and if there is any real interest I will post a pic or two. I imagine you would have to meet me somewhere within a hour or so of Fremont Ohio to pick it up as I think shipping it would be kinda hard. Let me know:)

I have a good friend who is a taxidemist and he told me he wouldn't suggest putting one out in the garage unless you try to keep it clean....(fat chance) as they deteriorate fast in an "unfriendly " environment.

But again... he has won several awards in competition for his maticulate work....

Here are the pics. The garage is heated and it's only been in there a few years. It has some cobwebs on it but I didnt have a comb or ladder to get up there and clean it. I would guess a comb and a hand held vac would get the cob webs off:) I see new ones go for around 1500 or more but I will start it at 725.00. I'm also open for offers since I just want to get rid of it. It seems to be in nice shape:) Thanks for looking guys.

My wife would have a **** fit if I brought something like that home...

So when are you going to be picking this up?

Very cool item but like a poster said earlier I don't think I'd want to keep it in the average garage heated or not. Then again most GJ'ers don't have the average garage.

"****-fit" doesn't even begin to describe it. Of all the things one could do to precipitate a divorce, bringing home a bison head would do it quicker than anything I can think of.

One numbnuts of my acquaintance went fishing in Florida, caught a sailfish and in a fit of exuberance, had it mounted and shipped home. The wife, who didn't get to go to Florida, saw the $2000 bill. He slept in the garage with the sailfish for a month and if there hadn't been four kids to support, he'd have been sleeping with the fishes.

This reminds me of an encounter with one of these.
I was by the Crazy Horse monument a long while back, on the way out you drove down a road in the park. A couple of the big boys were there. The one comes right up to the truck window and pus his tongue in the top opening of the window. Big like that first head mount a big bull.

He's looking around in the truck with his tongue so I put a small bit of snickers on his tongue and he took it in and I put my window up very slowly and very slowly rolled off. He was preoccupied just long enough with that bit of snickers for me to roll off without him destroying me. As I drove off I had a little chill upon seeing how big he was. Damn. Glad I did't piss him off.

Is there any damage around the eyes or the mouth and nose areas? Any crumbling stuffing coming out from around the edges of the wood backing? Also, how far does that project from the wall and what is the height and width of the back of the mount. I'd probably make you an offer of 750 for that and could pick it up Sunday afternoon after work or on Monday.

Darrin,
Hmmm. We have some tool deals coming up, when you visit me, right? Wanna do some trading? Think JC Penney, Penncraft, Herbrand, etc, etc.

I'll ask momma about putting this in my hunting cabin or my garage, while I await your response.

Ha. I just LOVE Garage Journal!!

Axel I sent you a PM a few hours ago. Yes, it's still for sale and I'm going to check it out closer this evening to see exact condition and get some info for questions you asked:)
