Tractor Supply carries some larger wrenches in their “Job Smart” brand. I’m not sure how large they go to in mm but my local store carries up to 2” in SAE.

I just bought one of tektons higher end 38mm wrench and it's a very nice tool. I have every size from 6mm-32mm.

I'm not gonna say by brand x or Y, but just don't buy the super-cheap combo-wrenches if you are actually going to use them more than once and need to count on them in making your paycheck. I made that mistake when I was a newbie starting out in an equipment shop. I broke 3 of them in 2 days on a single job with nothing but my own weight on them (no cheater pipe) just working on large hydraulic system plumbing (fittings screwed into each other or into the component )

Recommending appropriate tools depends a lot on what stuff you are working on.
For stuff like I mentioned above, (since breaking and throwing the HF junk away) I have used a good quality large adjustable for most of that work ever since. I also use large crow-foots and only recently bought top quality combo wrenches for the rare occasion where that is the fastest way / best access to the part in question.

I got lucky and got a bunch of craftsman USAs for pennies on the dollar. Plus I have a stahlwille 32x36 deep offset for about $12 on Amazon a couple years ago.I would check amazon and sears for buys.

Menards carries large individuals. Crescent brand, but surprisingly nice and priced well

Bought most of mine used, mostly quality Euro brands, couple USA made, just what was available here, unless you need them now or want a matching set for the OCD types, its the cheap way to get them. I only really have the DIN sizes in large metric as thats all I ever need and none of them get used very much.

Did you just buy them individually? Or is there a larger set I am not seeing?

If I recall up to 22mm (can't recall 100%) come in a set. Passed that you need to buy individual. I have the higher end ones that come with the racks they sell. They to up to 50mm.

If this is buy to have on hand that one time every 4.98736 years you need one, get the craftsman set
https://www.craftsman.com/products/...ombination-wrench-set-choice-of-metric-or-sae
20, 21, 22, 23, 24 mm
(1-1/16, 1-1/8, 1-1/4, 1-5/16, and 1-1/2 in.

If you use them for a living, well.... yes I do have and suggest Snap on
Flank Drive Plus https://store.snapon.com/Standard-H...Combination-Wrench-Set-20-24-mm--P754376.aspx
and https://store.snapon.com/Standard-H...bination-Wrench-Set-15-16-1-1-8--P754394.aspx

then add what specific sizes you need.

Or if you like GearWrench
http://www.gearwrench.com/wrenches/...combination-ratcheting-wrench-set-metric.html

GearWrench 81919

1/4" thrugh 1 1/2"
6mm - 32mm (skipping 29mm and 31mm)

Not a gear wench fan boy... but I do have four of their large pattern ratcheting wrenchs..
There are a some bikes I can avoid removing the muffler on using a 30, 32, 34 or 36mm GearWrench on.. and they were surprisingly reasonable in cost compared to other options.
And the quality is pretty good..... hmm that said I think I'll buy a set of the smaller ones for the road box

I am currently tossing up between this set and tekton. The gearwrench will give me a spare set of wrenches in 6-22mm which is an advantage. Leaning towards this because I don't encounter SAE a lot and only wrench as a hobby/at home not for a living. Has anyone use both the gearwrench extra long and the tekton combos any differences between the two?

Gearwench are longer. Have been know for open end spreading. **** warranty...

tekton not as long. Great and easy warranty.

If you have the cash to spend I'd get snap-on or carlyle.

I currently have a mismatch of USA made wrenches in sizes over 7/8". One day I will spend the money and build a set up to 2-1/2" to match my 3/4" drive sockets. Will probably go with Williams or Proto.

I do not know exactly what your needs are but I would suggest looking at the larger 1/2" Sunex crows foot sets. Yes you will need a breaker bar or ratchet to use with them but you'll have a nice set of larger sizes for far less than you would spend on each individual wrench. They also take up much less space in the box.

I had a newb tech come borrow them one day just to have the tech that was training him bring it back and boast about how his Snap On's were so much better because the Sunex ones were to long because the square is a stub outside of the crescents arc. (this guy doesn't work for us anymore, you can only burn so many bridges with an attitude like that) Yes you can spend more and get a more compact design that does the same thing. I actually see having that little stub off the end as a bonus, it turns the crows foot into a super stubby wrench. I find them especially useful on hydraulic fittings.

Here is a quick amazon search link. It is just an example, I did not go searching for the best deal. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LQG3XQ/?tag=atomicindus08-20 They have a set for the next step up from this on as well. I have them and they are great imho.

Hope this helps...

I gave up looking for a set and just bought individuals from Cripe distributing for like $7/wrench. Gearwrench and Armstrong. They don't match but I really don't care.

Whats wrong with Gearwrench for home use, better than the shorter cheaper raised panel versions. A set of Gearwrench is probably cheaper than buying individual wrenches elsewhere and there are sizes that you would rarely or never use so warranty is not a issue.

Leaning gearwrench way, these are occasional use tools and i figure i can upgradelater and probably onsell the gearwrench without losing too muchgiven what they go for here in Aus. I am trying to get a set to add to my current tool shipment, if I was local would buy used

I bought a larger facom 440 set and filled the rest with individual spanners off ebay, i have up to 32mm although i don't use the larger sizes often, the 24mm is the largest i use now and then for working on a pallet mover.
