Large Detatched Garage Lighting

We are brand new to this forum and are looking for some advice from those of you who've tackled large spaces before. We have a 30x40 detached garage with 1 RV door and 1 regular garage door. The ceiling is 16-18 feet above the concrete pad. There is no drywall, tons of electrical, and 2 neophytes trying to figure out how to light this big space. How do we decide how many lights, spacing, and style or brand for this project? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Is the ceiling flat? Given the size of that space, I'd suggest the long tubular fluorescent lights. The fixtures are normally 2x8' bulbs or 4x4' bulbs. They're easy coverage for a large area.

I've found a 4x4' set or 2x8' set covers a 20' x 20' garage area. If you're just planning to park your cars, 2 fixtures would be plenty. Considering adding a 3rd if you plan to use the space for a workshop.

This is my 36x40 detached garage with 12ft ceiling. I used 16-8’ led lights. Each fixture has 4 - 4’bulbs for a total of 64. Cost was around $1600 from a local electrical supply house. I have 4 rows evenly spaced and individually switched. The lighting is awesome I rarely use more than a couple rows. Nothing an hide in there.
